FELE Prep

We understand you have many choices when it comes to choosing study materials for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.  At FELE Prep, our proven program has helped thousands of students pass the FELE test. Let’s take a look at what makes our program different from many.

Single Focus

At FELE Prep, our ONLY focus is on the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.  Many other FELE test prep providers offer resources for multiple exams.  We choose to give our full attention to helping students prepare for the FELE test.

Variety of Resources

We offer a wide variety of FELE test prep resources designed to help you every step of the way, including:

FELE exam study guide – We offer a FELE exam study guide for each subtest.  If you are taking the entire Florida Educational Leadership Exam, we suggest investing in all of the study guides. If you are only taking a portion of the exam, then you will just need the FELE exam study guide that corresponds to the subtest you are taking. Each FELE exam study guide includes FELE practice questions as well.

FELE writing examples – we offer a sample written performance assessment to help you prepare for the FELE written response.

FELE flashcards – FELE flashcards are a supplement to the FELE exam study guide materials.  They focus on key terms, theorists, and the multiple choice portion of subtests 1,2 and 3.

FELE seminars – FELE seminars are a great way to learn and reinforce the material found in the FELE exam study guide. Our FELE seminars are often offered on a Saturday and are limited to 8 – 10 students.

FELE tutoring

Our founder, Dr. Lynette Fields, provides one-on-one Skype tutoring for candidates who prefer this type of FELE test prep.

FELE Exam Study Guide

(Part Two)

We are continuing our series on strategies to help you prepare for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. Our previous article covered the importance of understanding the components and objectives of the FELE test and identifying your strengths and weaknesses.  Let’s look at three more FELE test prep strategies to consider:

Review Your FELE Exam Study Guide Materials

Once you understand the components and objectives of the FELE test and identify your strengths and weaknesses, you should begin using your study materials. The primary resources to consider include the FELE exam study guide for each subtest (including FELE practice questions), the FELE written response and FELE flashcards.

Consider Additional Resources

FELE Prep offers additional resources designed to accommodate the needs of all students.

  • If you prefer one-on-one study sessions, consider FELE tutoring via Skype.  During your FELE tutoring sessions, Dr. Lynette Fields will work through the FELE exam study guide materials with you.  You will also be provided with FELE practice questions and FELE writing examples to help you prepare for the FELE written response portion of the test.
  • FELE seminars are offered in a classroom setting and limited to 8-12 students.  During FELE seminars, Dr. Lynette Fields covers the FELE exam study guide and FELE written response.  You will also work several FELE practice questions and have the opportunity to discuss various aspects of the exam with both Dr. Fields and your peers.

Study, Study, Study!

Finally, you must continue to study, study, study!  Review your FELE exam study guide materials as many times as you need.  Work the FELE practice questions.  Review the FELE writing examples and practice the FELE written response.  Use the FELE flashcards to help you review the main points.

Preparing for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam

(Part one)

Our next series of articles focus on how to best prepare for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.  No doubt, the FELE test is challenging.  However, you are not alone!  FELE Prep is here to help you every step of the way. Let’s take a look at some tips on how to best prepare for the FELE test.

Understand the Components and Objectives of the FELE Test

It is important to understand the overall components and objectives of the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. Our FELE exam study guide materials are broken down into modules that correspond with each subtest, including the FELE written response.  This is designed to help you get a feel of each component and objectives of each subtest.

Identify Strengths and Weaknesses

Once you understand the components and objectives of each subtest and the FELE written response, you should then identify your strengths and weaknesses. Let’s say the FELE written response is a weak area for you but you feel pretty confident with the material in subtest one. You should still continue to study subtest one but place more emphasis on reviewing FELE writing examples and practicing your FELE written response.

Our next article will cover more tips on how to best prepare for the FELE test.

FELE exam study guide

We are continuing our series on FELE test taking tips.  Our previous article discussed the importance of arriving early for the exam, listening to the instructions, and taking deep breaths along the way. This article will cover three more tips to consider when taking the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.

Read Each Question Carefully

A major mistake many make when taking the FELE test is that they do not carefully read each question.  Read and re-read each question to make sure you understand what is being asked. Working the FELE practice questions can help you get accustomed to the style in which the questions and answers will be presented.

Check Your Answers

Always double check your answers and make sure you have answered each and every question.  You can get into the habit of doing this by working some of the FELE practice questions found in our FELE exam study guide. You should also carefully review your FELE written response as well.

Don’t Get Discouraged!

We are often our own worst enemies when it comes to taking tests, and the Florida Educational Leadership Exam is no exception.  If you get stuck on a question, don’t get discouraged.  Take a deep breath, think about your answer, and if you are still stuck, come back to it later.  The more you review our FELE exam study guide for each subtest, work the FELE practice questions, study our FELE writing examples and practice the FELE written response, the more prepared and relaxed you will be when taking the exam.

FELE Prep is proud to be a premier provider of FELE exam study guide solutions. All of our materials are written by Dr. Lynette Fields, a 30+ year veteran of Florida public education.  All of our FELE exam study guide materials, including FELE writing examples, FELE practice questions, FELE flashcards, FELE seminars and FELE tutoring via Skype, are written to help candidates achieve the best scores possible.  We have hundreds of satisfied clients to prove it! If you plan to take the Florida Educational Leadership Exam either now or in the future, we invite you to explore our website and consider our FELE exam study guide solutions today!

It is normal to be nervous when taking any standardized test.  This is especially true when it comes to the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.

The first step is preparation. It is important to begin preparing several months ahead of time.  FELE Prep has resources to help you prepare for each subtest as well as the FELE written response section.  Each FELE exam study guide includes FELE practice questions while the written performance assessment includes FELE writing examples to help you prepare.

Once you’ve prepared, the next obstacle to overcome is actually taking the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. Our next series of articles will highlight some FELE test taking tips to consider.

Arrive Early

Plan to arrive early the day of the FELE test.  This will give you time to get settled and relaxed.  If you arrive as the test is about to begin, you are more likely to get frazzled and anxious.

Listen to the Instructions

Be sure to listen carefully to all of the instructions given by the FELE test moderator.  If you miss something or are unclear, do not be afraid to ask for clarification.

Take a Deep Breath

Taking a deep breath decreases stress, lowers blood pressure and increases energy.  Doing this before each subtest and as needed throughout the exam can help alleviate anxiety and improve clarity.

Our next article will cover three additional FELE test taking tips to consider.

FELE Written Response

As you probably already know, the Florida Educational Leadership Exam requires much preparation.  FELE Prep has developed proven FELE exam study guide materials and FELE practice questions to help guide you toward success.  The part of the Florida Educational Leadership Exam that causes the most anxiety is the FELE written response section.

The FELE written response is included in subtest 3. Our FELE Subtest 3 Study Guide includes System Leadership and Written Performance Assessment (Module 3A).  In addition to the FELE written response being covered in our FELE Subtest 3 Study Guide, we also have a Sample Written Performance Assessment.

Let’s take a closer look at the FELE written response section.

Purpose

The FELE written response (a.k.a. written performance assessment) measures the effectiveness of your written communication and ability to interpret and analyze educational related information and data. FELE writing examples play an important role in preparation as they help you better understand the objectives of this section.

Scoring

The FELE written response score is based on a six-point rubric.  Six is the highest; one is the lowest. FELE written response evaluators take several factors into consideration, including grammar, organization, data analysis, accuracy and appropriate communication for the target audience level.

FELE Writing Examples

FELE writing examples are an excellent resource to help you prepare for the FELE written response section. In addition to the FELE Subtest 3 Study Guide and Sample Written Performance Assessment, we cover FELE writing examples in our FELE seminars and upon request during our FELE tutoring sessions.

FELE Prep is the preferred provider of preparation resources to help you pass the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.  We are an independent, Florida-based company, not a national conglomerate.  Our founder, Dr. Lynette Fields, has more than three decades of experience in the Florida public education system. FELE exam study guide, FELE practice test, FELE written response

We are continuing our series on FELE test prep tips. Preparing for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam can be quite an undertaking.  At FELE Prep, our sole focus is helping you pass the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. We have developed proven FELE study materials that have helped thousands of candidates achieve a passing score. Our founder, Lynette Fields, is a 30+ year veteran of Florida public education and has personally researched and written all of our FELE study materials, including the FELE exam study guide and FELE practice test for each subsection, FELE flashcards and our FELE written response / written performance assessment preparation materials.

Our previous article covered how to choose the most effective FELE test prep resources  for your study style. Our next FELE test prep tip discusses how to set a study schedule and stick to it.

The first step in developing a consistent study schedule is to set a standard time and place for your FELE test prep. Perhaps the best time and place for your self-study work is each night at 9:00pm at home. Or, maybe you prefer to hit the library every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4:30pm. Whatever it is, make sure the time and place is consistent. It is also a good practice to not spend any more than two hours at one time on any one FELE exam study guide module.

Next, develop a schedule and plan outside resources.  Perhaps you have someone who is able to study with you on a certain day of the week. This is an excellent time to quiz each other using FELE flashcards and also take a FELE practice test.

Finally, if you plan to utilize FELE seminars and/or FELE tutoring, be sure to schedule them as our seminars are limited to eight to ten candidates each and one-on-one FELE tutoring is held via Skype.

When it comes to FELE study materials, many candidates choose FELE Prep because we are based in Florida and not a subsidiary of a large standardized test preparation company.  We offer resources to accommodate every study style, including our FELE exam study guide, FELE practice test, FELE written response preparation, FELE flashcards, FELE seminars and one-on-one FELE tutoring via Skype.  Connect with FELE Prep today and let us help fuel your success!
