FELE Test Taking Tips

It is normal to be nervous when taking any standardized test.  This is especially true when it comes to the Florida Educational Leadership Exam.

The first step is preparation. It is important to begin preparing several months ahead of time.  FELE Prep has resources to help you prepare for each subtest as well as the FELE written response section.  Each FELE exam study guide includes FELE practice questions while the written performance assessment includes FELE writing examples to help you prepare.

Once you’ve prepared, the next obstacle to overcome is actually taking the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. Our next series of articles will highlight some FELE test taking tips to consider.

Arrive Early

Plan to arrive early the day of the FELE test.  This will give you time to get settled and relaxed.  If you arrive as the test is about to begin, you are more likely to get frazzled and anxious.

Listen to the Instructions

Be sure to listen carefully to all of the instructions given by the FELE test moderator.  If you miss something or are unclear, do not be afraid to ask for clarification.

Take a Deep Breath

Taking a deep breath decreases stress, lowers blood pressure and increases energy.  Doing this before each subtest and as needed throughout the exam can help alleviate anxiety and improve clarity.

Our next article will cover three additional FELE test taking tips to consider.
