More Ways To Reduce Test Anxiety

We are continuing our series on tips to help reduce test anxiety when taking the Florida Educational Leadership Exam. Our previous articles covered the importance of getting plenty of sleep, eating a nutritious meal on the day of the exam, reframing your mind with positivity and confidence, and arriving early to the Florida Educational Leadership Exam testing site.  Today, we will look at two more ways you can ease test anxiety.

Take Your Time

Don’t rush through the FELE exam.  You don’t want to overanalyze the questions, but at the same time, be sure to read each question thoroughly before choosing your answer. Try to not pay any attention to others around you as that can contribute to anxiety.  Also, while continually watching the clock can cause anxiety, you do want to glance at it every so often to make sure you are on pace to complete the exam.

Breathe!

Taking a series of slow, deep breaths can help calm your nerves and put you in the right frame of mind to take the test. Consider doing this before you leave home and then again once you arrive at the testing site. There are also smart phone and smart watch apps that can guide you through breathing exercises.

While taking any exam can be nerve wracking, it should be of some comfort to know there are strategies you can use to help calm your nerves and reduce test anxiety. And, when it comes to preparing for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam, FELE Prep definitely has you covered.  We provide comprehensive FELE exam study guide materials with FELE practice questions to help you prepare for each subtest. We also offer FELE writing tips to assist you with the FELE response.
